This hand embroidered pair of skeleton hands making a heart is a great beginner Halloween project and perfect for autumn. It's also really great as a Christmas ornament, if that's your jam! It's a simple, easy pattern that is a good piece of DIY art for spooky season. I also think these bones would make a cute gift for an orthopedist, physical therapist, nurse, doctor, osteopath, or anyone who helps heal hands and wrists.

The fabric I chose for my spooky season hand embroidery hoop is bright orange cotton with lighter and darker orange shapes printed on it, but I think many other options would look charming. You can make it less Halloween-y by using white thread on dark green fabric, for example.

This little skelly heart would also be festive on sweatshirts, scrubs, kitchen towels, cocktail napkins tote bags (gift bags), and more. I can't wait to see what you create!
