Nordic Forest Salve

Nordic Forest Salve is a concentrated, anhydrous balm for dry, rough, and weather-exposed skin — hands, heels, elbows, and any hardworking area that needs more than moisture.
The Nordic Forest Salve begins in that tradition. Piñon pine resin and two traditional wood tars — birch and pine — form the foundation: deep, smoky, unmistakably of the forest. Then the formula moves forward. Cold-pressed black currant seed oil and sea buckthorn bring the targeted nourishment the older formulas never had. Both settle into a base of beeswax, murumuru, and shea — one that melts on contact and stays where you put it.
Because it holds no water and no emulsifiers, a small amount goes a long way. The scent is entirely botanical — oakmoss, balsam fir, and juniper — drawn from essential oils and the resin and tar themselves.

The Story

There is a scent every Finn knows before they can name it — tar. It sealed the boats, coated the skis, and waited in the workshop for the skin that winter and work had worn through. Finland has an old saying about what sauna, spirits, and tar cannot cure.
