Made from vintage Guatemalan cortes — the traditional skirt fabric worn by many Maya women — these Indigo Corte Cloth Napkins bring timeless pattern, history, and handwoven texture to the table. Each set is crafted from vintage cotton corte textiles featuring traditional jaspe (ikat) designs in indigo, grey, and white, then carefully sewn by artisans at Ruth & Naomi, a cooperative in Guatemala.
Jaspe, the Guatemalan form of ikat, is created by dyeing threads before weaving to form the beautifully softened patterns woven throughout the fabric. The result is a table linen collection that feels both classic and deeply rooted in tradition.
Soft, durable, and easy to layer into both everyday meals and elevated gatherings, these reusable cotton napkins add a collected, artisan touch to the table. Each set of four is made from the same corte textile for a cohesive look, though slight variations may exist from one set to the next. Photos show examples of the range of patterns and tones you may receive.
