"Don't be a butt." This evergreen reminder comes from Anne Helen Peterson in the Culture Study Newsletter. It works! The comment sections of her essays, open threads, etc. are notably thoughtful and courteous in a way not common on the interwebs. I love this short, sweet, and sassy reminder to mind our manners and be nice, even when (especially when) we disagree. Perhaps especially relevant for family Thanksgiving! Perhaps Hanukkah, Christmas,, or New Years celebrations? Really, any time people gather. Supper clubs, brunch, 5Ks and Turkey Trots, Ramadan, Easter, Passover, dinner parties, birthday parties, town meetings, library fundraisers, community days, HOA meetings (sob), crowded trains, long lines. And so many more.

This quote is a lighthearted, fun way to remind yourself or your friends, family, and guests to be kind. I sewed this floral wreath and text on white cotton, but it would be charming on other colored backgrounds. I think it would also be fun art on a tote bag, kitchen towel, tee shirt, or denim jacket.

This PDF pattern is very beginner friendly and satisfying to sew. I provide DMC thread colors plus stitch suggestions, but I encourage you to be creative and personalize with your own!
